Synergy Rocks!!!
I just got synergy to work between my pc and mac. This program basically allows you to use 1 keyboard and mouse on both computers. Its like having dual monitors, with 2 different machines, and also allows you to copy and paste!!!
Download this for the mac: click here
Its a nice app that runs it the upper bar at all times showing your status.
Then download the version for your pc: click here
Setup the pc program so it the server.
Select "Share this computer's keyboard and mouse (server)"
Then click on the configure button.
Add 1 screen for your pc. Put the name of your pc in the Screen Name field. This should be the name of your pc, which you can find when you click on the advance button in the options section, ie: "jonscomp".
Add another screen for the mac. In the Screen Name: enter the name of your mac, ie: "jons-computer". If you are having problems try also entering an Alias, which will be the name of your mac+".local", ie: "jons-computer.local"
Now, under the links you will configure which directions the monitors are relative to each other. I have my mac on the right and the pc on the left. Here is my configuration:
"jonscomp is left of jons-computer"
"jons-computer is right of jonscomp"
Make sure to hit the little plus button or it won't save.
Ok, now hit the test button and make sure the server started.
Setup the mac program to be the client: "Connect to a shared keyboard and mouse"
Under the "Client Configuration" tab type in the ip address of the pc (192.168.0.2). Then click back on the "General" tab and click "Turn Synergy On".
You should see on your PC log window that the comptuers are connected. Now try moving your PC mouse to the mac window and watch the magic happen.
=)
